Lime bike collection job in London: what the work involves

A plain explanation of the job, so you know what you would be doing before you apply.

A Lime bike collection job means driving a van around London to collect broken or damaged e-bikes, taking them to the depot, loading repaired vehicles and putting them back on the street. At Northsea Transport & Logistics it also includes rebalancing, which means moving vehicles from quiet areas to busy ones.

What the job is

Shared e-bikes only stay useful if someone physically looks after them. A collection driver is the person who goes and gets a damaged vehicle, makes sure it is loaded safely and gets it to the depot.

A typical run

  • Retrieve. Find and collect broken or damaged vehicles around London, loaded safely and logged.
  • Take to the depot. Run the collected vehicles to the depot.
  • Redeploy. Load repaired vehicles and put them back on the street.
  • Rebalance. Move vehicles from quiet areas to places where riders are looking for them.
